A New Season

Have you ever had those seasons in life where whether you were wanting change or not, it happened.

Something drastic.

A new adventure or maybe a journey through a valley?

Over the years I have gone through some very high moments and some very deep moments. Sometimes I can feel the beginning of a new season and other times the clouds clear and I see the light at the end. There is one thing that I have done since I graduated high school to embrace and or mark some of these life changes. I find it important to make a drastic change, not for others but for ME. I want to see and be reminded of this point in time. I want to look back and remember the woman I was at the beginning and reflect on how God refined and grew me during that season.

I don’t know what 2020 has in store for you. I don’t know if you are heading out or into a storm. I don’t know if you are beginning a new adventure or finishing one but what I do know is that God will be with you every step of the way!

It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.

Deuteronomy 31:8

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.

Isaiah 43:2

The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.  Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.

Psalm 9:9-10

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Psalm 34:18-19

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6

I am so thankful for these promises and I hope you find hope and strength from them as well. There are hundreds more if you read the Bible and many more stories of God’s faithfulness in good times and bad.

This past year we have had just a few major life changes. However, the new season I find myself in is one of ‘lasts’.

For the past seven years I have had to privilege and opportunity to experience five pregnancies. I have mourned the loss of two of my babies while rejoicing in bringing three home. I have spent a total of 62 months being either pregnant or producing milk to feed my children. The past 10months I have slowly been experiencing lasts as we hit new milestones with Elijah.

I am still trying to navigate my thoughts as each day passes but I want to remember and mark this new season for me. I am so thankful that I have had the opportunity to experience these lasts and although they may be difficult I am excited to continue a new season of firsts alongside my lasts!
